The district where we operate has a Taliban-appointed Minister of Education, and the previous government's Minister of Education is working with him; they have visited the school, been in contact with our staff, and have given all indications that they are fully supportive, including approving expanded programming in 2022. We are also seeing concerning things in US media, and my understanding is that experiences have varied greatly in different regions of Afghanistan; our experience in Deh'Subz has been relatively steady. The 7-12th grade girls across the district missed the end of their school year due to other local schools experiencing a shortage of female teachers, but the information we have currently is that K-12 will return in full after their winter break.
